Grant Applications

The sole purpose of the Trust is to provide grants to help others evangelise in Australia. It is the Trustees prayer that many congregations will be able to benefit from the Trust. We envisage that the Trust will be one source of support that a congregation could use to help pay for evangelists, workers, students or other worthwhile programs.

The finance for the grants comes from the investment earnings on the Trust capital. In this regard, the Trust needs to accumulate a minimum capital balance of $250,000 before it is open to grant applications. The capital balance can be checked on the Home Page of this site.

The reason the Trustees have chosen the $250,000 capital balance prior to accepting grant applications, is that a capital balance of $250,000 can generate an investment return of over $1000 per month at an investment rate of 5.25% pa. The Trustees see this as a worthwhile starting point.

As the capital balance gets closer to this minimum target, this page will contain comprehensive information on how to make a grant application. Application documents will also be available for download on this page. The Trustees will also make available a Grant Application Kit to assist in the preparation of grant applications.

The Trustees have designed some preliminary policy statements regarding the grant process. These can be found on the Grant Application Policy page. The grant process, when available, will also involve key dates that applicants will need to adhere to in submitting applications. These dates can be found on the Key Dates page of this site.

It must also be emphasized that, although the current Trustees are all members of the Gosford congregation, the Trust is for the benefit of every congregation of the church of Christ (non-denominational) in Australia. An Advisory Board will also be established to help assess applications to ensure the integrity of the grant application process is maintained. As Trustee vacancies occur, replacement Trustees will be sought from other congregations.
